(1) Regulation about attendance
1. Students should come to class on time. If the students can not come to class, they must ask for a leave. Students who are absent without any previous request will be regarded as truancy. The number of missing classes will be counted by class hour.
2. The Attendance is classified into: late, leaving early, absent, and asking for a leave.
3. Procedures for asking for a leave:
1) Students should have reasons to ask for a leave. Each applicant should fill the leave-asking-form.
2) During the class hour, if the student has to leave for 5 days or less than that, he/she should get the approval of the head-teacher.
3) Students asking for a leave for more than 5 days must inform his/her teacher 1 day ahead and than go to the teacher’s office to fill the form.
4) In the case of Emergency or unpredictable situations, the students should inform the teacher by phone, after coming back, students should go to the teacher’s office to fill the form. Students who refuse to go through the procedure will be taken as truancy.
4. Disposal of truancy:
1) Students who are absent for 20 class hours in a term would be given the first written warning.
2) Students who are absent for 40 class hours in a term would be given the second written warning.
3) Students who are absent for 60 class hours in a term or miss class for no reason for 80 class hours(including absent for illness or private business), their permission for final exam will be cancelled. If the case is even worse, the students will be reported to the Exit and Entry Administration Department of Public Security, Shaoguan to terminate the students’ study in Guangdong.
5. The Chinese Language Teaching Center will be in charge of the Regulations.
(2) Regulation about dormitory
To safeguard the normal order of students’ dormitory and create a good living environment, to guarantee the students’ safety, physical and mental health, we hereby draw up the provisions:
1. New students should pay for the accommodation fee and register in the Dormitory Management Center before board in. After the start of each semester, students are required to pay the accommodation fee, not in arrears.
2. Students should follow the Center’s unified management and room transferring is not allowed without the approval of the Center.
3. Other students and heterosexual are not permitted to stay overnight. The offender will be criticized, Amount of 80 Yuan accommodation and management fees will be charged for the breaking of the rule.
4. Wires in the dormitory are prohibited to be reset. High-power electric appliance, such as electric stove is not allowed to be used in the dormitory. Flammable, explosive and the virulent substances are prohibited in the dormitory. The violator will be punished.
5. Students should be aware of fire prevention, taking care of the fire-fighting equipment. No remove or demolition of the fire box, fire taps, faucets, fire extinguishers and other facilities; Flammable thing is prohibited in the dorm; Ignition is forbidden in the apartment building; Reservation of flammable, explosive and toxic substances is prohibited.
6. Lock the room and close the windows before you leave the room. Do not give your keys to others. Take care of your belongings and valuables
7. Should there be bad intrusion, theft, sabotage, students must be dare to struggle and report to the Dormitory Management Center and the Security Office immediately. Integrated Alarm Telephone No.: 8124110
8. Students suffering from infectious diseases should comply with the doctor's diagnosis, getting accommodation according to the designated locations.
9. Fighting, drinking, crashing bottles, playing mahjong and gambling are prohibited. No posting posters, advertisements etc; No superstitious activities. Gathering, making noise and other activities that influence others are forbidden.
10. Students must cultivate good health habits, consciously cleaning one self’s room and maintain indoor clean. No littering and spiting.
11. Save water and other resources.
12. Trades in hostels are prohibited, including the sale of telephone cards, clothing, and cosmetics etc.
13. Bicycle parking and other articles are forbidden to put in the hall and walkway. Storage of excessive personal belongings occupying quarters in the common space are also prohibited.
14. Students should cooperate with the managers of the Dormitory Management Center, not malicious remarks, insults and even beating managers.
The Center is responsible for the management and explanation of these provisions.
